This air intake is the result of extensive research and testing to improve airflow in the stock system. The system is a complete redesign of the stock airbox in order to reduce supercharger drag and maintain a low intake temperature. By using a patented venturi housing, the airflow path is more direct and laminar than the cubic-shaped stock airbox. The custom-made EPDM hose is also much smoother on the inside compared to the OEM hose, which has large ridges along the bent section that inevitably creates turbulence. This version allows movement where needed, but then has a smooth curved section all the way to the throttle body. Finally, an air duct seals the filter housing and draws cold air from its normal location to minimize IAT.
Testing
This intake was independently dyno tested by Dream Automotive in the UK. The car was tested without carbon filters in the stock airboxes. The dyno test results showed a steady increase in power throughout the entire rev range, which can be attributed to the fact that the supercharger operates with less resistance due to the higher efficiency of the intake system.
